From painting to sculpture, Alain Mandon seeks to bring colors, contrasts and three-dimensional effects to life.

An Artist in Search of Matter

Born in 1967 in Limoges, Alain Mandon is a self-taught sculptor and fine art painter, drawn to abstract creation.

It was during his holidays on the coast that he developed the idea of working with resin (as is used on surfboards), to solidify the vivacity of the colors in his paintings.

The final result of this process gives both texture and contrast to his works, evoking visual effects similar to that of a stream of molten lava.

The Feminine Form Forged From Matter

His sculptures, on the other hand, sublimate the female form, rendering it timeless through the molten alloys that serve to accentuate the curves and lines of a woman's physique. The casting process gives them an eroded and aged appearance, reminiscent of Antique sculpture.

Alain Mandon plays with texture by mixing atypical materials such as resin, natural sand, or pewter for a final product that combines movement, matte and shine.
