Manon Perrier was born in Sarlat (24) on September 24, 1987 and Alexandre Guilmart in Angers (49) on May 4, 1984. Young artists have an atypical and complementary artistic background.
Manon comes from a family of creative craftsmen, which led her to design herself very early on. Born in a natural setting, she divides her life between her love of horses and her passion for art. Versatile and self-taught artist, she made a living from her creations (earth sculpture, cement, painting and live performance) for 10 years, before learning to weld.
Alex has been passionate about drawing since childhood. After studying comics at the Pivaut school in Nantes, he traveled through as many cities as he exercised professions (Croupier, magician, illustrator, tattoo artist) before discovering sculpture near his hometown.
Then one day, the future couple meet: Alex participates in a sculpture project with a collective, Manon is exhibiting at that time. Then Manon teaches Alex how to weld and Alex enters Manon's universe. From then on, they never leave each other.
For 3 years, they create relentlessly, feeding on each other; their creativity explodes. They develop an original and unique approach to metal, diverting tools to serve their practice. They mix their ideas and their knowledge until they become one. They very quickly sign their works "Alex & Manon" without distinction.
Curious about everything, their subjects are varied, the vast theme of nature nevertheless emerges as the common thread of their inspiration.
