Karl LagerfeldBear Brick Chanel

Karl Lagerfeld, born September 10, 1933 in Hamburg and died February 19, 2019 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, is a great German fashion designer and stylist, also photographer, draftsman, designer, director and publisher.

Very young, he reveals an affinity with fashion. In 1954, he won the International Wool Secretariat prize, tied with Yves Saint Laurent. He studied at Balmain and Patou and then as an independent. He became artistic director of the Italian house Fendi in Rome in 1965, of the haute couture house Chanel in 1983, and of his own line shortly after. In parallel, in the 1970s, he also worked for Chloé.

Prolific designer, he supervised, during his last years of activity, about twenty collections per year, all brands combined. A postmodernist, he mixes elements of the past and the history of the houses he directs with modern references.
