Born in Paris into a family of multi-talented artists, Marie Guerrier, 26, specializes in metalworking. Her universe is inspired by nature and the world of minerals that have fascinated her since childhood. Attentive to the world of Science and Art, she develops her know-how by sculpting the material with patience, rigour and technical requirements. Geometry, by its universal and timeless beauty, occupies a central place in his work. Used as a graphic and symbolic bias, it is also an essential construction tool. In search of balance and poetry, his work challenges the "inanimate" elementary geometric figures by giving a tangible representation of hollowed, split, duplicated forms, arranged in such a way as to reveal sensitive compositions. Through the manufacture of metal, wood, wax and concrete, these forms come to life in unexpected ways, inviting the spectator to touch them. At the border between design and artwork, the artist plays with scales and questions usage. From jewellery to sculpture, the full and empty spaces interact in a harmony that is both subtle and obvious. The material, tested with respect, is sublimated down to the smallest detail.
