"Little by little, creation is an evidence, a need, my daily oxygen..."
Dan Derrac's work, which was concerned with femininity from a very early age, revolves around the essential lines of the feminine body, but also in what is deepest in them. The artist explores flaws, fullness, emptiness, tensions, tears?
Creation is sacred: Dan Derrac is caught up in a mysterious and uncontrollable sphere where the need to "do" is obvious.
"At the limit of purity, these women give us to see beyond the visible. His works gradually break free from codes, become more refined. In the mastered play of fullness and emptiness, Dan inscribes poetry, fragility, as much as plenitude or motherhood. His creations are harmonious hymns to the beauty of women, to their universality, to their timelessness as well." (Pascale and Bruno Boigontier for Art et Déco)
