The female body has always been a source of inspiration for Sylvie Bourély.
Trained in the fashion industry, she has sharpened her sense of observation, proportion and rigor.
Self-taught, she has been sculpting female nudes for the past fifteen years. Sylvie Bourély did not follow an artistic training and works in an unconventional way, by scaffolding her sculptures from photos projected on a screen.
She buys on a website dedicated to artists, nude models, photographed at 360° by professionals (24 views). She prints the 4 main views on which each detail is measured to the scale of the future realization.
Each sculpture is unique and worked without armature, requiring an essential resting time for the clay to model it to the right consistency according to the models' postures.
Her objective is to sublimate female bodies in poses that enhance them and whatever their morphology.
When Sylvie touches the clay, she enters into connection with it, this osmosis exalts the feminine content and energizes the creative energy, the earth being the incarnation of the soul of the feminine.
Since 2021, some sculptures have undergone the test of fire in the Barthélémy foundry in Crest to become bronzes
