Sculpture in wood (larch) coated with acrylic stucco.

"I’ve always wondered why rabbits caught in car headlights run all over the place. My answer is that they hate being seen naked at night. This sculpture is polished and polished.

Thanks to its pure and soft lines, the desire to caress it is a matter of course, discovering it through touch will intoxicate all your senses with an intense soothing pleasure." - Gilles Quéré

There are forms that are challenging. In an animal register, Gilles Quéré expresses himself with power and preciousness. Its forms are self-sufficient but they are linked by an intimate relationship. A very relationship that finds its source in an impregnated childhood: Brittany, between the "pink granite coast and the legendary coast", the hard work of cement and other minerals. A declaration of love for art in front of the "crying woman" of Pablo Picasso, a teenager who, without knowing it, was already in love.

In his animal register, we find metaphors about life, about his life, a dialogue with the history of art. From Sumerian art to Chinese fixed statuary (HAN), from English sculpture by Moore, Laurens, Deacon or Flanaghan, to Pompon.

First encouraged by Gérard Venturelli and Jan Voss to pursue the expression of his inner rages in painting, G.Quéré then naturally turned to sculpture. To touch these forms is to feel these energies invested, committed and released. A form of atonement for torments symbolically represented by endangered or extinct animals. Sublimated for the pleasure of the senses.
