Isabelle Tapie has set up her studio on the edge of a wood, as close as possible to nature, from which she draws a large part of her inspiration. It is during her career as a restorer of the heritage of golden and polychrome woods that Isabelle Tapie opened the door to freedom by taking with her the art and the way, materials and technique to explore new territories... Raw and precious, dialogue for a dream: her subtle gilding on wood (complex technique, unchanged since the 17th century) then travels according to the branches, tree trunk fragments and roots, natural sculptures, met with emotion during her walks.
The gold or silver leaves, sometimes a few raw semi-precious stones set, then slip into the "skin" or the most intimate hollow to tell a story, to reveal a secret. But the journey does not stop there, Isabelle Tapie moves in a second direction by painting on wooden panels (MDF:medium).
Most of them are landscapes to be reinvented, to be interpreted according to one’s own imagination. The gilding on wood, in light relief, the stones and the colour (acrylic, oil, waxes) vibrate according to the play of light, even the most subtle, offering a world open to reverie. In the thousand and one details of his unique compositions, the invitation to dream is an obvious one, encouraging everyone to embark on a unique journey. Freedom of interpretation: Isabelle Tapie is so keen to do so that she has transformed the name of each work. Since 2016, the title, first in French, has been translated, sometimes with some fantasies, into a little-known language (at least in the West).
Isabelle Tapie now devotes herself entirely to artistic creation.
